IOD Viridis Decor Mould

Bring botanical detail to your next make with the Viridis silicone mould from Iron Orchid Designs. Featuring leaves and branches, this 6" x 10" decor mould creates raised foliage embellishments for furniture upcycling, mixed media art and handmade home décor.

Frame a painted furniture panel with leafy castings, add dimension alongside an IOD floral transfer, or curl foliage around a small mixed media composition. Use individual leaves as a subtle finishing touch or arrange branches together for a layered, garden-inspired design.

Ideas for your next project

• Create botanical furniture appliqués for drawers, cupboards and decorative panels.
• Pair leaf castings with IOD floral transfers to add raised detail to furniture art.
• Embellish frames, keepsake boxes and handmade gifts with foliage accents.
• Build textured botanical arrangements for mixed media panels and home accessories.

Using air dry clay

Dust the mould lightly with cornflour to help release your casting. Remove the clay while still moist and adhere it in place. For vertical applications, low-tack tape can help hold the moulding while it dries. Natural shrinking, warping and cracking can give your finished piece an aged, vintage character.

Using casting resin

Casting resin produces consistent mouldings without the shrinking, warping or cracking associated with air dry clay. For curved surfaces, remove the casting before it has completely hardened so it can be shaped to fit.
