Using air dry clay and casting resin

Swans can be used with air dry clay and casting resin. Air dry clay may shrink, warp or crack as it dries, adding character to vintage-inspired projects. Dust the mould lightly with cornflour to aid release, then remove the clay casting while still moist and adhere it to your surface. Low-tack tape can help support castings on vertical applications.

Casting resin produces consistent mouldings without the drying shrinkage associated with clay. For curved applications, a casting may be shaped before it has completely hardened; follow your chosen resin manufacturer's instructions for timing and handling.
