Using air-dry clay

Air-dry clay can shrink, warp and crack as it dries, adding an authentically aged, distressed look to your project. Lightly dust the mould with cornflour to aid release. Remove your casting while it is still moist and adhere it in place, using low-tack tape to help support it on vertical surfaces.

Using casting resin

Casting resin produces consistent mouldings without the shrinking, warping or cracking associated with air-dry clay. To fit a casting to a curved surface, remove it from the mould before it has completely hardened so it can be shaped into position. Follow your chosen resin manufacturer's mixing, handling and curing instructions.
