IOD Oak Leaves & Acorns Decor Mould
Bring woodland detail to your next make with the Oak Leaves & Acorns silicone mould from Iron Orchid Designs. Featuring an assortment of oak leaves, individual acorns and acorn clusters, this 6" x 10" decor mould creates nature-inspired embellishments for furniture upcycling, handmade home décor and mixed media crafts.
Picture a painted keepsake box edged with autumn leaves, a vintage-inspired frame decorated with acorns, or a furniture panel given a woodland focal point. Use individual castings as delicate accents or arrange leaves and acorns together to create your own botanical composition.
Ideas for your next project
- Add oak leaf and acorn furniture appliqués to drawers, cupboard doors and decorative panels.
- Embellish picture frames, keepsake boxes and handmade gifts with woodland details.
- Create autumn-inspired decorations and nature-themed mixed media artwork.
- Add dimensional botanical elements to scrapbook projects and journal covers.
Using air dry clay
Use with IOD Air Dry Clay to create castings with a naturally aged character. Dust the mould lightly with cornflour to help release the clay, then remove your casting while still moist and adhere it in place. For vertical applications, low-tack tape can help hold the moulding while it dries. Shrinking, warping and cracking can occur as air dry clay dries, adding a vintage, distressed finish.
Using casting resin
Casting resin produces consistent mouldings without the shrinking, warping or cracking associated with air dry clay. For curved surfaces, remove the casting before it has completely hardened so it can be shaped to fit, following your resin manufacturer's instructions.
