Iron Orchid Designs - Mould - Invitation Only

IOD Invitation Only Decor Mould

Add a cast of distinguished characters to your next project with the Invitation Only silicone mould from Iron Orchid Designs. Featuring four dressed animal busts, a cat, dog, stag and fox, this 6" x 10" decor mould brings whimsical Victorian-inspired charm to furniture upcycling, mixed media art and handmade home décor.

With details including hats, bow ties, shirts and jackets, these animal characters make delightful focal points. Picture a fox on an upcycled book cover, a stag decorating a painted flower pot, or a cat or dog bringing personality to a keepsake box. Choose a favourite character for a small accent or create a coordinated collection of handmade gifts.

Ideas for your next project

• Create animal-bust embellishments for decorative boxes, book covers and mixed media panels.
• Add character to painted flower pots and upcycled home accessories.
• Make Dickensian or Victorian-inspired Christmas decorations.
• Create furniture appliqués and decorative castings using IOD Air Dry Clay or casting resin.

Using air dry clay

Dust the mould lightly with cornflour to help release your casting. Remove the clay while still moist and adhere it in place. For vertical applications, low-tack tape can help hold the moulding while it dries. Natural shrinking, warping and cracking can add an aged, vintage character to the finished piece.

Using casting resin

Casting resin produces consistent mouldings without the shrinking, warping or cracking associated with air dry clay. For curved surfaces, remove the casting before it has completely hardened so it can be shaped to fit.
