Iron Orchid Designs - Mould - Hidden Hollow

IOD Hidden Hollow Decor Mould

Bring storybook charm to your handmade projects with the Hidden Hollow silicone mould from Iron Orchid Designs. Featuring three fairy doors this 6" x 10" decor mould creates dimensional embellishments for furniture upcycling, mixed media art and woodland-inspired home décor.

Imagine a tiny fairy doorway on an upcycled keepsake box, a woodland scene taking shape on a decorative panel, or a secret entrance tucked into the design of a painted cupboard. Use the castings as a focal point or combine them with botanical embellishments to tell your own little woodland story.

Ideas for your next project

• Create fairy-door embellishments for decorative boxes and handmade gifts.
• Add whimsical raised details to painted furniture and cupboard doors.
• Build woodland-inspired mixed media scenes and decorative wall panels.
• Cast your designs in IOD Air Dry Clay or casting resin to suit your chosen finish.

Using air dry clay

Dust the mould lightly with cornflour to help release your casting. Remove the clay while still moist and adhere it in place. For vertical applications, low-tack tape can help hold the moulding while it dries. Natural shrinking, warping and cracking can give your finished piece an aged, vintage character.

Using casting resin

Casting resin produces consistent mouldings without the shrinking, warping or cracking associated with air dry clay. For curved surfaces, remove the casting before it has completely hardened so it can be shaped to fit.
