Using air dry clay and casting resin

Frames 3 can be used with air dry clay and casting resin. Air dry clay may shrink, warp or crack as it dries, adding character to vintage-inspired projects. Dust the mould lightly with cornflour to aid release, then remove the clay casting while still moist and adhere it to your surface. Low-tack tape can help support castings on vertical applications.

Casting resin produces consistent mouldings without the drying shrinkage associated with clay. For curved applications, a casting may be shaped before it has completely hardened; follow your chosen resin manufacturer's instructions for timing and handling.
