IOD Boughs of Holly Decor Mould - Limited Edition - 6" x 10"

Bring festive botanical detail to your Christmas making with the limited edition Boughs of Holly silicone mould from Iron Orchid Designs. Returning for a special limited release, this 6" x 10" decor mould features Christmas trees, a poinsettia flower, mistletoe, holly, fir cones and sprigs of spruce for handmade decorations and seasonal home décor.

Boughs of Holly is the most requested mould re-release ever from IOD, a much-loved Christmas favourite welcomed back by the crafting community.

Imagine a Christmas plaque framed with holly and spruce, or a handmade ornament finished with a poinsettia casting. Use individual elements as simple accents or combine the foliage, flowers and cones into a layered festive arrangement.

A collection of Christmas favourites

Mix the different botanical designs to suit your project, from traditional greenery to a softly aged winter composition. The Christmas tree motifs offer another focal point for seasonal signs, keepsakes and mixed media artwork.

Ideas for your festive projects

  • Create Christmas ornaments with holly, mistletoe and spruce details.
  • Build a festive wall plaque with a poinsettia focal point.
  • Layer fir cones and foliage into decorative wreath projects.
  • Embellish Christmas signs and decorative gift boxes.
  • Combine tree motifs and botanical castings in seasonal mixed media artwork.

Choose your Christmas finish

Try traditional greens and reds for a classic festive look, or use creams and muted tones for vintage-inspired decorations. Metallic highlights can pick out the raised details, while a softly aged painted finish brings the different elements together.

Using air dry clay and casting resin

Boughs of Holly can be used with air dry clay and casting resin. Air dry clay may shrink, warp or crack as it dries, adding character to vintage-inspired projects. Dust the mould lightly with cornflour to aid release, then remove the clay casting while still moist. For appliqué projects, adhere it to your surface while moist; low-tack tape can help support castings on vertical applications.

Casting resin produces consistent mouldings without the drying shrinkage associated with clay. For curved applications, a casting may be shaped before it has completely hardened; follow your chosen resin manufacturer's instructions for timing and handling.
