Iron Orchid Designs - Mercy House Chitenge - Decor Stamp - RETIRED

IOD Mercy House Chitenge Decor Stamp

Bring bold, rhythmic pattern to your creative projects with the Mercy House Chitenge Decor Stamp from Iron Orchid Designs. Designed in collaboration with Mercy House, this clear stamp draws inspiration from the traditional Chitenge prints that have adorned African fabrics for generations.

Imagine a painted cabinet finished with patterned panels, a decorative box with a striking repeat or handmade stationery with a carefully placed motif. Use the designs as individual accents or build a larger composition for furniture upcycling, handmade home décor and mixed media art.

The story behind the design

This collaboration celebrates the creativity and heritage of Chitenge prints. Mercy House supports women through entrepreneurial skills, job training, health education and wellness checks.

Ideas for your next project

• Create patterned panels on painted furniture.
• Add bold decorative detail to trays, boxes and wall art.
• Build backgrounds for handmade cards, stationery and journal pages.
• Layer repeating motifs into mixed media compositions.
• Press the designs into IOD Air Dry Clay for embossed craft details.

Using your IOD stamps

Use with IOD Decor Inks. An IOD Flexible Grid Mount Sheet can support positioning on flat projects, while the stamps can be used without their backing on curved or irregular surfaces. Test your pattern and spacing on scrap material before stamping your finished piece.

Preparing your stamps

Condition before first use for a cleaner impression. Remove the protective acrylic sheet from the stamping side, leaving the stamps on their backing sheet. Gently scuff the stamping surface with fine-grit sandpaper in one direction, then turn through 90 degrees and repeat.
