Iron Orchid Designs - Mercantile - Decor Double Stamp - RETIRED

IOD Mercantile Decor Double Stamp

Create rustic farmhouse detail with the Mercantile Decor Double Stamp from Iron Orchid Designs. Across two stamp sheets, grain sack stripes and vintage-style advertising text sit alongside ears of corn, wreaths, a cockerel, a cow and a horse.

Imagine a painted sign with the character of an old country shop or a cushion cover decorated with grain sack stripes and an animal motif. Mix the lettering, borders and illustrations to make your own compositions, or pair with castings from the IOD Village Market Mould for added dimension.

Ideas for your next project

• Create vintage shop-inspired signs and decorative wall panels.
• Add grain sack stripes and advertising details to painted furniture.
• Decorate cushion covers using a medium suitable for your fabric.
• Combine animal motifs and wreaths on handmade home décor.
• Layer stamped designs into rustic mixed media artwork.
• Press the designs into IOD Air Dry Clay for embossed craft details.

Using your IOD stamps

Use with IOD Decor Inks. An IOD Flexible Grid Mount Sheet can support positioning on flat projects, while the stamps can be used without their backing on curved or irregular surfaces. Test your arrangement and chosen medium on scrap material before stamping your finished piece.

Preparing your stamps

Condition before first use for a cleaner impression. Remove the protective acrylic sheet from the stamping side, leaving the stamps on their backing sheet. Gently scuff the stamping surface with fine-grit sandpaper in one direction, then turn through 90 degrees and repeat.
