Here's a very quick and easy project for you!
Here in North Yorkshire, when the blossoms on the trees appear and the flowers start to bloom, my hayfever bursts into action! Starting with a sniffle and progressing to bouts of full blown uncontrollable sneezing what better project to undertake than a beautiful tissue box!

Here is what you'll need:
- a tissue box blank
- Sweet Pickins Milk Paint in Corabelle
- Sweet Pickins Extra Bond
- Iron Orchid Designs Primrose Isle
- clear wax to seal
- paintbrushes
- non-fluffy duster/microfibre cloth
- hairdryer
Step 1
Lightly sand your tissue box to remove any sharp edges and rough patches. Remove the dust.
Step 2
Mix up your milk paint - equal quantities of paint powder and warm water. Give it a really thorough mix to get rid of any lumps in the paint mixture. Set aside for ten minutes to thicken up.
Step 3
Apply a generous coat of Sweet Pickins Extra Bond all over the outside of tissue box. Put to one side to allow it to dry. I don't usually paint the inside of my tissue boxes.
Step 4
Paint your tissue box. The first coat will look very patchy . Dry with the hairdryer. You'll see crackles starting to appear. When the paint is dry, apply another coat and dry with the hairdryer. You will see lots of crackles popping up! Repeat one more time if necessary to achieve the coverage you want.
Step 5
When the milk paint is thoroughly dry, it's time to add your IOD transfers! Cut out the pieces of transfer that you'd like to use and apply. Make sure that you have burnished them so they are stuck firmly in position without any air bubbles.
Step 6
Apply clear wax all over your tissue box to seal the milk paint and the transfers. Buff the wax with your duster.
Step 7
Stand back and admire your beautiful project!

I used Sweet Pickins Corabelle and Iron Orchid Designs Primrose Isle here but you can use any combination of colours and transfers for your tissue box.
Have fun and stay crafty!
